Scholarships are available for second or third year students majoring in Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics for the Spring 2012 semester.
Deadline to apply is October 15, 2011. Students must be enrolled full-time and have at least a 3.0 GPA.

The National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) has released the results of elections for its Officers and Board of Directors. Kim Leavitt, President of Harper Leavitt Engineers in Blackfoot, Idaho, has been elected to serve as NSPS Area 7 Director for a 3-year term, beginning in July 2011. Area Directors may serve two consecutive terms.
NSPS members residing in the states comprising each Area vote to elect their Director. The states in Area 7 include Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. The Canadian Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan are also in Area 7.
Leavitt is a longtime member of the Idaho Society of Professional Land Surveyors and has most recently served on its Board of Directors as the NSPS Governor.
